Our school captains proudly smiling at 5.00 am. Tania, Amy, Kira and Grace with the wreaths.
This year we commemorated ANZAC Day with a ceremony at 9.00am on Friday April 22. Students from all classes laid wreaths that they had made in a solemn ceremony in our school hall. Many members of our school community joined us on this day, including one of our parents, a member of the armed forces, as our guest speaker.
On the day, as in previous years Kelso State School represented our school community at the ANZAC Day Dawn service and March at Thuringowa.
Our school captains, Tania, Amy, Kira and Grace, accompanied Mrs Lubbe and Mrs Cataldo to the dawn service at Thuringowa and participated in the ceremony by laying beautiful Australian native flower wreaths.
Later in the morning, a large number of students, teachers and parents proudly represented Kelso at the march. It is always a proud moment for us when we can be out as a school in our own community behaving in such an amazing manner. Our students were truly Kelso Proud.
